These symptoms include difficulty feeding, poor weight gain, rapid breathing, excessive sweating, and frequent respiratory infections. Complications associated with VSD include the development of pulmonary hypertension, a condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Untreated or large VSDs can lead to increased blood flow to the lungs, causing the blood vessels in the lungs to become thickened and narrowed.
